La Cultura Maya – Rio Cananibal, Quiche, Guatemala

This was done in partnership with Guatemala Service Projects (https://www.guatsp.org) in Rio Cananibal, Guatemala. This school is in a very small community about 30 minutes outside of Chichicastenango which is about 3 hours west of Guatemala City. The elevation is around 8,000 feet and the air is extremely fresh and crisp. This is an elementary school that has about 200 students. I painted in this school in 2012, and was invited to come back to restore the original mural after an addition had been made to the school. The teachers were a huge help and great to work with! This mural took 4 days to complete (32 total hours).
