Nayita – Buenaventura, Colombia

Nayita is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Buenaventura, which is the largest port of Colombia. The organization that we partnered with suggested that we represent the music of this area, so the marimba and drums were incorporated into the design. This area has been challenged over the years, and despite its proximity to the ocean, there is only running water for a period of time throughout the day. The youth of the neighborhood helped with this project and was painted with Chacho Lopez (@chacholopeztattoos). This was painted in 2016. It is about 4 stories tall, and took 5 days to complete (40 hours in total).Â
